Terminal Design & Operations Manager
Location: Geneva, Switzerland
Impact Talent is partnering with a leading global container terminal operator to appoint a Terminal Design & Operations Manager.
Working from the organisation's global headquarters, you will collaborate with business development, terminal development, and investment teams to design operationally efficient terminals, evaluate investment opportunities, and optimise existing facilities. This role offers international exposure and the opportunity to influence major port infrastructure projects around the world.
What You'll Be Doing
- Develop terminal design solutions that meet operational, commercial, capacity, safety, productivity, and sustainability objectives
- Lead the testing and validation of terminal concepts using static and dynamic simulation modelling where appropriate
- Develop and implement design standards, tools, and protocols that support consistent, efficient, and future-proof terminal solutions
- Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to optimise terminal layouts, operational processes, capacity planning, and resource utilisation
- Contribute to operational improvement programmes that increase terminal capacity, efficiency, and overall performance
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, consultants, and project teams throughout the project lifecycle
Who You Are
- At least seven years' experience in container terminal operations, terminal design, or port operations management
- Strong understanding of terminal operations, port infrastructure design, capacity planning, and operational optimisation
- Experience using simulation modelling to evaluate business processes and support terminal design decisions
- Knowledge of terminal technologies, operational best practices, and the factors that influence terminal design
- Experience using AutoCAD considered highly advantageous
- Confident communicator, able to present complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Proven ability to work independently while leading cross-functional teams across multiple international projects
