Business Engineering (MFR-E) is a function within Risk. Our goal is to enable Front Office and Risk teams to gain quantitative insights into commercial activities across the global RWEST landscape. We also support entry into new markets and play a key role in the development and implementation of new products.

Business Engineering is the business owner of Endur and ROCK and is responsible for implementing new products, driving standardisation through robust controls, and offering expert advice and hands-on support to the business.

Our work provides exposure to all areas of the organisation, and we are recognised as trusted and collaborative partners.

The Solid Fuels, Gas and Oil Commodity Team specifically works with a broad range of commodities, including Time Charter, Coal, Biomass, Freight, Gas, LNG and Oil and supports complex deal modelling.

Your responsibilities

  • Design, implement and maintain required changes to Endur within the New Business Approval Process (NBAP)
  • Trade and price-curve modelling in Endur including market data process
  • Operate and further develop trade capture and market data processes - both in day-to-day operations and strategically (e.g. holding instruments, deal template creation and adaptation, Nexus volume uploads)
  • Handle queries from Risk, Front Office and Back Office regarding trade capture and valuation, including stress testing and Value at Risk calculations
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders across Business Engineering, including Front Office, Back Office, Risk and IT

Your powerful skills

  • University degree in a relevant numerate discipline, e.g. Economic, Mathematics, Science or equivalent
  • Solid understanding of market risk and the ability to analyse and solve complex problems
  • Familiarity with commodity trading and the full trade lifecycle, including physical and financial instruments across a broad range of commodities
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical topics to a variety of stakeholders
  • Well-organised, with the ability to set priorities and manage multiple tasks
  • Skilled in building and maintaining effective working relationships across teams
  • Proficiency in relevant IT systems and tools, especially OpenLink Endur, Oracle SQL and Microsoft Excel
  • High level of self-motivation and a willingness to quickly learn new systems and tasks
  • Knowledge of Gas, LNG, Oil and Solid Fuels products

Advantageous, but not a must

  • Experience in Project Management
  • German language skills
