Head of PMO – Transformation Office

Private Equity-Backed Industrial Business

The Opportunity

We are supporting a Private Equity-backed industrial business seeking to appoint a Head of PMO to join its newly established Group leadership team.

The role has been created following the merger of two complementary European manufacturing businesses. The newly formed group is entering an important phase of integration, operational improvement and long-term value creation.

Reporting directly to the Group CEO, the Head of PMO will play a central role in translating strategic priorities into execution across the organisation, working closely with the Group CFO and the Private Equity firm's Operating Partners.

The Role

This is a highly visible and hands-on transformation role, with responsibility for driving execution across the Group.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the Group Transformation Office and driving enterprise-wide transformation initiatives.
  • Supporting post-merger integration across the newly combined organisation.
  • Driving value creation initiatives across operations, commercial functions and finance.
  • Establishing programme governance, performance tracking and executive reporting.
  • Identifying operational constraints and ensuring delivery against key business priorities.
  • Supporting KPI development and financial performance steering alongside the Group CFO.
  • Coordinating cross-functional initiatives across Operations, Finance, HR, IT and Procurement.
  • Acting as a trusted partner to the Group CEO, CFO and Private Equity Operating Team.

The role is highly execution-focused and requires someone comfortable taking ownership of complex initiatives and working directly with senior stakeholders.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 6+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • A background in strategy or management consulting, ideally with experience at Engagement Manager level or equivalent.
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale transformation programmes.
  • Experience supporting or leading post-merger integration.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work effectively with C-level and senior executives.
  • A hands-on, operational mindset with a track record of turning strategy into measurable results.
  • Experience within a manufacturing business is highly advantageous.
  • Exposure to a Private Equity-backed environment would be beneficial.

Candidates may come directly from consulting, provided they have significant implementation and transformation experience and demonstrate a strong operational orientation.

Location

The Group headquarters are located in Central Germany, with additional operations in the Netherlands.

Regular presence at the German headquarters is expected, although relocation is not required.

Fluent German and English are essential.

Due to the volume of applications, we’re unable to respond individually to candidates whose profiles don’t match the criteria for the role.
