The Product Owner for SAP S/4 Finance within the Accounting Systems team is a role critical for business continuity and the ongoing development of our core financial platform. This position will ensure the system evolves to meet the strategic objectives of the CFO organization. To support these aims, the role is structured around three core areas: Product Strategy & Backlog Management, Agile Project Execution & Team Collaboration, and Financial Systems Governance & Quality Assurance. This approach ensures a clear vision is established, development is executed efficiently, and the final product is compliant and fit-for-purpose. Given the focus on agile leadership and financial systems, the ideal candidate will have extensive experience as a Product Owner in a SAP Finance environment. Key requirements include deep knowledge of SAP S/4 Finance modules, proven expertise in agile methodologies, and strong stakeholder management capabilities to bridge the gap between business needs and technical delivery.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Define, articulate, and own the product vision and roadmap for SAP S/4 Finance, ensuring alignment with business stakeholder requirements and overall company objectives.
- Develop, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog by translating complex business needs from finance departments into clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Act as the primary liaison between stakeholders and the development team, managing expectations and ensuring a shared understanding of priorities and release plans.
- Analyze business processes and user feedback to identify opportunities for system improvements and drive the product strategy forward.
- Serve as the dedicated point of contact for the development team to clarify requirements, answer questions, and make decisive choices on product features.
- Formally accept or reject completed work at the end of each sprint, ensuring that deliverables meet the defined quality standards and business value.
- Align requirements from a global/ template perspective, balancing standardization and local needs.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Longstanding experience as Product Owner, Business Analyst, Accountant or SAP consultant with a strong focus on SAP Finance (FI/CO) modules.
- Operational experience ideally in one of the accounting subject matter areas: Project Accounting, HR Accounting, Accounts Receivable, Inventory Accounting or Accounts Payable
- Deep expertise in SAP S/4HANA Finance (FI/CO) and financial systems governance
- Proven skills in product ownership, demand management, and requirements elicitation. Solid understanding of end-to-end accounting processes and process design
- Strong stakeholder management, business analysis, and influencing skills. Fluent English, German preferred
