Power BI Platform Engineer (m/f/d)

Your Responsibilities:

As a Power BI Platform Engineer, you are responsible for the stable operation and continuous improvement of our enterprise-wide Power BI platform. You ensure that the platform is ready for analysts to build impactful reports and apps, and that business users experience a secure, high-performance, and governed environment.You will work at the intersection of Data Engineering, Analytics, Infrastructure, and Business Teams to provide Power BI as a trusted self-service and reporting platform across the company.

Your tasks in detail:

  • Operate, manage, and optimize thePower BI platform
  • Provide2nd-level support for Power BI and related components (e.g., Microsoft Fabric, Power Platform)
  • Implement platform governance: role/access management, deployment processes, usage monitoring
  • Act as the technical liaison between infrastructure, business stakeholders, and external service providers
  • Support BI analysts in publishing reports, certified datasets, and apps
  • Operate and monitor data pipelines (e.g., with Apache Airflow, dbt, Fabric, Databricks)
  • Maintain reusable artifacts such as templates, themes, certified datasets
  • Contribute to the rollout of new capabilities like Microsoft Fabric, DirectLake, Power BI Copilot, etc.
  • Adviseinternal stakeholders on best practices for Power BI usage and platform adoption

Your Profile:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a related field
  • 5+ years of relevant engineering experience, with a strong expertise in Microsoft Power BI, Power Platform, and ideally Microsoft Fabric
  • Proven experience with administration and operations of BI platforms (user/role management, governance)
  • Understanding of data modeling, Power Query, DAX, and basic Data Engineering principles
  • Hands-on experience with tools like Apache Airflow, dbt, Databricks, Grafana is a plus
  • Scripting knowledge (Python, Shell) desirable
  • Confident using tools like Confluence, Jira, MIRO, MS Office
  • Strong communication skills inEnglish (required), German is a plus
  • Service-oriented mindset
