Role Description
We are working closely with a top-tier UK-headquartered patent and trademark firm in their search for a partner-level patent attorney with a portable client following/network of contacts. This firm already has a presence in Munich but is seeking further growth through the hiring of partner-level individuals that can add value.
This is a full-time hybrid role based in Munich, with a blend of in-office and work-from-home flexibility. The Patent Attorney Partner will advise clients on all aspects of patent law, including patentability, freedom-to-operate, and portfolio strategy, while helping to build and lead a growing practice. Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting and prosecuting patent applications, managing patent preparation and filing strategies, and handling opposition, appeal, and enforcement matters before relevant patent offices. The role involves conducting due diligence for transactions, assessing IP risks, and providing strategic counsel on patent portfolios for a diverse client base. The Patent Attorney Partner will also contribute to business development, mentor junior team members, and collaborate closely with clients and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality, commercially focused IP solutions.
The firm is open to subject matter expertise so a background in chemistry, life sciences, engineering or high tech/software will be of distinct interest.
