Legal Counsel | Munich
Our client is seeking a Legal Counsel to join the legal function of a fast-growing technology company with government and public-sector customers across Europe. The role sits at the centre of the company's go-to-market activity, working closely with sales, product and partnerships teams, and includes contributing to the development of the legal function itself, including the adoption of AI-powered legal tools.
The role:
- Draft, review and negotiate a range of commercial contracts, including sales and supplier agreements, software licensing and SaaS agreements, framework contracts, NDAs and teaming agreements with government and public-sector customers.
- Advise business stakeholders on contractual risk, liability, IP ownership, data protection, regulatory matters and export control implications.
- Support deal structuring in complex, multi-jurisdictional and public procurement contexts, coordinating with Finance, Export Control and Product teams.
- Build and maintain contract templates, playbooks and standard terms to support scalable contracting across the business.
- Contribute to the adoption of AI-powered legal tools within the legal function.
What you'll need:
- Law degree (First or Second State Exam, or equivalent), with a strong track record in drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts.
- Substantial post-qualification experience in commercial law, ideally combining law firm and in-house exposure.
- Proven ability to structure and navigate complex, multi-jurisdictional matters independently.
- Fluent German and English, written and spoken, to a professional standard.
