Head of Compliance
Location: Frankfurt | Team: 5 – 7 direct reports
The Opportunity:
On behalf of our client, a leading international group, we are recruiting a Head of Compliance. This is a senior leadership role with genuine ownership: you'll run the corporate compliance framework and set the direction on human rights, anti-bribery and corruption (ABAC) and anti-money laundering (AML).
We're looking for a fully qualified lawyer who brings both private practice and in-house experience across more than one organisation. That breadth matters. Equally important is a solid track record of building and leading teams.
What You'll Do:
- Lead and develop a team of 5–7 compliance and legal professionals
- Own the corporate compliance management system and keep improving it across the jurisdictions the business operates in
- Drive the human rights agenda, including supply chain due diligence and the reporting that goes with it
- Run the ABAC and AML programmes, from policy through to controls and monitoring
- Advise senior management and the board on compliance and regulatory questions
- Work closely with teams across the business to keep compliance practical and embedded in how people work
- Manage relationships with regulators, external counsel and other key stakeholders
What You'll Bring:
- Fully qualified lawyer (Volljurist, both state exams)
- Experience across both consulting and in-house industry roles, ideally at more than one organisation
- Strong knowledge of corporate compliance systems
- Good grounding in human rights topics, ABAC and AML
- Experience leading a team
- Confident dealing with senior stakeholders
- Fluent German & English
