Country Manager - Software Private Equity
We are supporting a private equity-backed healthcare software company in the appointment of a Country Manager (m/f/d) and future CEO to lead the business through its next phase of development.
Following a recent investment, the company is entering an important period of growth, professionalization and product development. It currently generates less than €5m revenue but is highly profitable.
The incoming Country Manager will take overall responsibility for the business, working closely with the existing team, founder and shareholders to drive performance, further develop the software platform and prepare the company for a potential exit within approximately 18 months.
This is a highly entrepreneurial role combining commercial leadership, product development, AI implementation and operational responsibility.
Founder Transition - Future CEO
The appointment forms part of a planned leadership succession.
The founder and current CEO will work closely with the incoming Country Manager during an initial transition phase, providing access to his knowledge of the business, market and key customer relationships.
The transition is expected to take approximately 6 to 9 months, although the handover could take place earlier depending on how quickly the incoming Country Manager is able to establish themselves and assume responsibility.
The objective is a clear transfer of operational leadership. Following the transition, the founder is going to move into an advisory capacity and the Country Manager will become CEO.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Drive the overall strategy and commercial development of the business
- Take full P&L responsibility, delivering against growth and profitability objectives
- Work closely with the existing team to continuously improve and develop the software platform based on client feedback and evolving market requirements

- Translate customer needs and market insights into clear product priorities and development initiatives
- Lead, motivate and develop a small, highly Specialized team
- Work closely with the private equity shareholder and Board on the value creation agenda
- Prepare the organization for a potential exit within approximately 18 months
The ideal candidate will bring:
- Strong leadership experience within a B2B software company
- P&L responsibility, ideally as Country Manager, Managing Director, General Manager, CEO or in a comparable leadership position
- A strong understanding of software products and business models
- An interest in AI and its practical application within software products and business processes
- A customer-centric mindset and experience translating client feedback into product improvements
- The ability to combine strategic thinking with a highly hands-on and pragmatic approach
- Fluency in German and good English is essential, combined with strong communication skills across clients, employees, shareholders and other stakeholders
Experience within healthcare software or healthtech would be advantageous but is not required.
