Senior Commercial Technology Lawyer (German Qualified) | Interim Opportunity | January 2027 Start
We're currently seeking an experienced German-qualified Commercial Technology Lawyer to support a leading global technology business on an interim basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of cloud computing, AI, data protection and digital transformation, partnering with commercial and product teams across the EMEA region.
The Opportunity
Joining a high-performing legal team, you will provide strategic and commercial legal advice across a broad range of technology matters, supporting a fast-paced and innovative business during a period of increased demand.
Key Responsibilities
- Advising on complex commercial agreements relating to cloud, software and technology services
- Providing product counselling support to internal stakeholders
- Supporting customer-facing legal matters, particularly within regulated sectors such as financial services and automotive
- Advising on customer compliance requirements and regulatory considerations
- Guiding the business on data protection, AI and broader data law issues
- Collaborating closely with legal, commercial, product and business teams across EMEA
- Identifying and managing legal risks associated with cloud technologies, AI solutions and emerging technologies
- Supporting negotiations and strategic commercial initiatives
About You
- German-qualified lawyer with 8+ years' PQE
- Fluent in German and English
- Strong in-house commercial technology experience
- Experience advising on cloud services, software transactions, IT outsourcing or digital products
- Knowledge of data protection, AI regulation and wider data law matters
- Background gained within a technology business, major IT provider, or a leading law firm with a strong technology practice
- Comfortable leading negotiations and operating independently with senior stakeholders and sophisticated counterparties
