About the Opportunity
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Surface Protection Operations Coordinator to support our aerospace operations in Hamburg, Germany. In this hands-on role, you will coordinate surface-protection and sealing activities for aircraft structures while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with strict aerospace quality standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced surface-treatment professional who enjoys working directly with teams, coordinating daily operations, and maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and productivity in a demanding aviation environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and direct surface-protection teams to complete daily activities safely and efficiently.
- Plan, sequence, and execute surface-protection and sealing work in accordance with Airbus and OEM requirements.
- Ensure all work is performed according to approved process specifications and controlled work instructions.
- Maintain compliance with quality management standards, including AS9100, EN9100, and ISO 9001.
- Coordinate with site teams to ensure required materials, equipment, tools, and resources are available.
- Monitor production performance and take corrective action to maintain schedules and quality targets.
- Support customer inspections, audits, and service-level reviews.
- Provide on-the-job training and support the development of team members' technical skills.
- Enforce workplace safety and environmental requirements, including proper handling of hazardous materials.
- Maintain a clean, organized, efficient, and quality-focused work environment.
- Promote continuous improvement and LEAN principles within daily operations.
Requirements
- Completed vocational qualification or equivalent practical experience in surface protection, coatings, surface treatment, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with surface treatment, coating technologies, and corrosion protection.
- Knowledge of surface-protection processes, including chromate conversion and protective coatings.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow controlled work instructions and technical procedures.
- Previous aerospace industry experience is preferred.
- Experience with LEAN manufacturing or continuous improvement is an advantage.
- Knowledge of REACH regulations and hazardous-material handling requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken.
- Strong organizational, communication, and team-coordination skills.
