Job Description
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading Project Management Consultancy (PMC) on a major pharmaceutical project in Germany. This is a long-term contract position offering highly competitive rates, working within a well-established commercial team on a technically demanding, high-value scheme.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the commercial management of E&I packages, ensuring accurate cost control, valuations, and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full commercial and cost control functions for E&I works on a pharmaceutical construction project
- Prepare and assess interim valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts
- Review, negotiate, and manage variations and change control
- Monitor project costs against budget and report on cost trends and forecasts
- Liaise with client, PMC, contractors, and subcontractors on commercial matters
- Ensure compliance with relevant contract conditions (e.g. NEC/FIDIC)
- Support procurement processes, including tender analysis and contractor selection
- Maintain accurate commercial records and documentation throughout the project
Requirements
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Proven track record as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on large-scale industrial or pharmaceutical projects
- Strong E&I experience essential
- Previous experience working with or for a PMC is highly desirable
- Sound knowledge of NEC/FIDIC or similar forms of contract
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Willingness to be based on-site in Germany for the duration of the contract
