Responsibilities
Quantitative Ownership & Methodological Leadership
- Design, evolve and maintain group‑wide PFC methodologies, standards and principles
- Independently challenge assumptions, parameter choices and expert judgement used in curve construction
- Perform model reviews, validation, back‑testing and sensitivity analyses; assess model limitations and suitability for use
Market Analysis & Curve Quality
- Monitor market developments, liquidity conditions, structural changes and assess implications for curve construction
- Define and maintain quantitative curve quality metrics and monitoring frameworks
Governance, Stakeholder Management & Decision Support
- Act as the central interface between local curve owners, quantitative analysts, trading desks, risk management and senior management
- Coordinate and prioritise developments across quantitative and technical teams, steering central technical resources towards the highest‑value
- Define and maintain standards, documentation, policies and guidelines for curve construction
- Coordinate regular curve approval and update cycles
Implementation & Data / Reporting Enablement
- Support local teams and quantitative developers in the implementation of price models in a modern, cloud‑native tech stack
- Develop and enhance analytical and reporting solutions for energy trading, portfolio management and risk management
Qualifications
- Master’s degree (or PhD) in Finance, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Economics or related field
- 5–7+ years experience in quantitative modelling, forward curve construction or analytics, trading or risk management in energy markets context
- Strong foundation in statistics, stochastic modelling and time‑series analysis
- Advanced Python skills, including the ability to read, understand and review model code; solid experience working with databases and modern data / cloud platforms
- Proven ability to challenge assumptions constructively and pragmatically
- Strong communication skills, able to translate complex quantitative topics into clear, management ready messages
- Fluent in English; confident presenting to senior and non‑quantitative stakeholders
- Comfortable operating in fast paced environments, managing multiple stakeholders and driving topics independently
