Mechanical Quantity Surveyor - Frankfurt - 27MW Data Centre Project
We’re partnered with an established international engineering and construction contractor delivering a flagship 27MW Data Centre project in Frankfurt, and we're looking for an experienced Mechanical Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team.
This is an brilliant opportunity to get involved in a large scale, high value mission-critical project, working across the mechanical delivery package and taking ownership of the commercial function from procurement through to project delivery.
This is a long term opportunity given the existing pipeline of future European projects sitting behind this project.
*EU Passport or German RTW required*
Benefits and Package - Mechanical Quantity Surveyor
- €100,000 – €120,000 base salary
- €1,400 per month tax-free subsistence on top per month
- Accommodation provided (sole occupancy)
- Flights provided
- 10 days on / 4 days off rotation
Typical Responsibilities - Mechanical Quantity Surveyor
- Taking ownership of the commercial management of the mechanical package
- Managing subcontract procurement, tendering and package placement
- Preparing and reviewing tender documentation, BOQs and procurement strategies
- Leading commercial negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers
- Reviewing subcontract terms, identifying commercial, contractual and programme risk
- Managing cost control, forecasting, commitments and project budgets
- Preparing monthly commercial reports and providing clear commercial visibility to the project team
- Managing variations, change control and commercial entitlement
- Building strong working relationships with the client, subcontractors and wider project team
Key Success Factors - Mechanical Quantity Surveyor
- A degree or relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
- Proven mechanical / MEP services experience
- Experience managing the commercial lifecycle of major construction or engineering packages
- Strong knowledge of subcontract procurement and package management
- Experience with cost reporting, forecasting, change control and commercial risk
- Solid understanding of contracts, claims and variations
- Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills
- Data Centre or Mission Critical experience is required
