We are hiring a Quality Manager to join our team at Dresden, Germany. As the Quality Manager, you will provide leadership and oversight for quality systems, standards, and initiatives within our Dresden photomask manufacturing site. Reporting to the Senior Quality Manager US/EU, you will develop, implement, and maintain Corporate and site Quality Management Systems (QMS) to ensure compliance with company objectives, customer requirements, and semiconductor industry regulations. Acting as both a management representative for international standards and a customer advocate, you will partner closely with operations, engineering, and customer support teams to drive root cause analysis, reduce defects, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Location:
Photronics – Dresden, Germany. This is an on-site position, and we are not open to remote candidates at this time.
Responsibilities:
- Standardizes quality systems, processes, and metrics to ensure consistency, efficiency, and alignment with corporate and site level objectives across multiple photomask manufacturing sites.
- Partners with operations, engineering, and customer support teams to resolve escalated quality events, lead root cause analysis, and implement sustainable improvements.
- Oversees customer audits, regulatory compliance, and certification programs (e.g., ISO), ensuring timely investigation of root cause and implementation of effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Supports continuous improvement initiatives to enhance yield, reduce defects, and increase customer satisfaction through Lean, Six Sigma, and other quality methodologies.
- Monitors and reports on site quality performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities, and develops strategies to address gaps and improve outcomes.
- Represents the site in corporate quality reviews, customer meetings, and cross-functional initiatives, ensuring alignment with company strategy and objectives.
- Works on complex issues requiring deep knowledge of company processes, customer needs, and semiconductor industry standards, often influencing senior site leaders on matters of strategic significance.
- Maintains the document management system for the site.
- Design and conduct internal audits of the sites Quality Management System.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Travel:
- Ability to travel up to 5% globally.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Attributes):
- Knowledge of methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people.
- Knowledge and practical experience with quality management methods (i.e. 8D, FMEA, APQP, PPAP, SPC).
- Strong knowledge of International Organization for Standardization, Lean/Six Sigma, and other relevant quality standards.
- Auditing experience to ISO9001:2015 and IATF 16949 standards.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Fluent in English.
Experience:
- Minimum 8 years of experience in a quality related field, semiconductor manufacturing a plus.
- Experience leading teams in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Certification in Quality Engineer (CQE), Quality Auditor (CQA) or Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE) preferred.
