Key Responsibilities
- Lead full-cycle development of utility-scale BESS projects within Germany, conduct site screening, techno-economic analysis and financial modelling to push projects to financial close under German energy regulations.
- Take charge of full grid connection processes in line with German grid rules, liaise with TSOs, DSOs and BNetzA to complete grid application and obtain formal connection approvals.
- Manage EPC, BoP and O&M tender activities for battery storage projects, assess battery and inverter suppliers, and negotiate technical and commercial contract clauses.
- Communicate with local governments, landowners, technical consultants and investors, submit construction and environmental permit applications and reply to regulatory inquiries.
- Cooperate with engineering, finance and legal teams, examine third-party engineering documents, and resolve technical and commercial risks of storage projects.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical or Energy Engineering; over 8 years of renewable energy project development experience in Germany, including at least 5 years of utility BESS development experience.
- Familiar with Germany’s power market policies, EEG, EnWG and grid codes; proficient in PowerFactory, PSCAD and relevant standards for large battery energy storage systems.
- Able to build project financial models, conduct contract management and independently compile professional technical and investment reports.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office; excellent communication and coordination skills, meticulous, capable of working under tight deadlines and high work pressure.
