We are supporting an established international organisation in the search for an experienced Procurement Team Lead to join its German operations. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who combines commercial acumen, technical understanding and strong people leadership. You will lead a small procurement function while remaining closely involved in supplier management, negotiations and day-to-day purchasing activities.
The Role
- Lead, support and develop the procurement team
- Oversee day-to-day purchasing activities and ensure smooth procurement processes
- Manage purchasing across both rental and investment requirements
- Source and evaluate suppliers, quotations and commercial proposals
- Lead price, terms and contract negotiations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and service providers
- Ensure timely availability of required goods and services
- Monitor the end-to-end purchasing process and maintain accurate ERP documentation
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, commercial terms and overall procurement efficiency
- Drive continuous improvement across the procurement function
About You
- Technical vocational qualification, ideally within engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics, technical services or a related field
- Previous experience leading or managing employees
- Background in procurement, purchasing, operations or a technical environment
- Strong technical understanding and the ability to assess products and services from both a technical and commercial perspective
- Confident negotiator with strong supplier management skills
- Structured, pragmatic and solution-oriented approach
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment with competing priorities
- Strong focus on quality, reliability and deadlines
- Experience with ERP, inventory or purchasing systems
- Good Microsoft Office skills
- Fluent German and English
