AI Futures is exclusively supporting a well-funded AI technology company in Berlin with the appointment of a Procurement Specialist.
We are looking for someone with a strong background in direct procurement, strategic sourcing or procurement consulting who is interested in taking their procurement expertise into the rapidly growing AI technology sector.
This is not a software engineering position. The company is specifically looking for someone who understands procurement deeply, can work confidently with enterprise customers and has a genuine interest in how AI can improve complex procurement processes.
The Role
You will work directly with enterprise procurement teams, understanding their existing processes and helping them successfully adopt new AI technology.
The position combines procurement expertise, consulting, stakeholder management and technology, making it particularly relevant for someone who has worked within procurement consulting or a complex direct procurement environment.
Responsibilities will include:
- Working directly with enterprise procurement and purchasing teams.
- Understanding existing direct procurement, sourcing and supplier management processes.
- Analysing procurement workflows and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Supporting customers with the introduction and adoption of new AI technology.
- Leading customer meetings, workshops and presentations.
- Working with buyers, procurement leaders and other senior stakeholders.
- Applying your procurement expertise to complex commercial and operational problems.
- Translating customer requirements into clear priorities for internal teams.
- Working with procurement data, systems and existing technology environments.
- Building long-term relationships with enterprise customers.
- Helping establish best practices as the business and customer base grow.
Your Background
We are particularly interested in candidates with:
- Professional experience in Direct Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Purchasing or Procurement Consulting.
- Strong exposure to direct materials, manufacturing, suppliers or complex supply chains.
- Experience working with large or complex procurement organisations.
- Procurement consulting experience would be highly attractive.
- Understanding of sourcing, supplier selection, negotiation, cost analysis and procurement transformation.
- Strong commercial and analytical skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication.
- Confidence running workshops and presenting to senior stakeholders.
- An interest in technology and willingness to learn new systems.
- A genuine interest in AI and its potential within procurement.
- An entrepreneurial mindset and comfort working in a fast-moving environment.
- Fluent German and English.
