Energy Operations Intern – German Speaking

About the Company

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast growing AI first climate fintech that is helping accelerate Europe’s energy transition.

The company has built a technology platform that supports thousands of renewable energy installation companies across Germany and Austria, helping them sell more effectively, plan faster and deliver better projects.

The business has secured $1.22bn in total financing, including $1.2bn in committed debt financing and a $22m Series A, and is now entering an exciting phase of European expansion.

AI is a big part of how the company operates, with teams across sales, product, finance and operations using AI to work more efficiently and improve how the business operates. This means you’ll be joining a modern, fast moving environment where you can develop your knowledge of both energy and AI.

You’ll be joining an entrepreneurial team where people are encouraged to take ownership, share ideas and move quickly. It’s a great environment for someone early in their career who wants real responsibility, exposure to senior people and the chance to build specialist knowledge within the energy transition.

The Opportunity

As an Energy Operations Intern, you’ll become an important part of the German and Austrian energy business and will be a key point of contact for customers and installation partners.

This is much more than a typical customer service or operations internship. You’ll develop knowledge across areas such as dynamic tariffs, smart meters, HEMS, §14a, grid regulation, feed in management and energy pricing.

You’ll use this knowledge to support customers and installation partners, help resolve operational issues and identify ways to improve processes across the business.

You’ll report directly to the Head of Energy & Operations and work closely with teams across Sales, Product, Finance, Marketing and Commercial Operations.

For a master's student or recent graduate, this is a great opportunity to gain hands on experience in a growing climate tech business while developing genuine knowledge of the energy market.

1. Customer & Partner Communication

• Act as a key point of contact for customers and installation partners via email and telephone.

• Handle questions and issues in a professional and solution focused way.

• Coordinate with different teams and stakeholders to make sure issues are resolved.

• Follow customer and partner requests through to completion.

• Build strong relationships through clear and reliable communication.

2. Develop Energy Market Expertise

• Build knowledge across dynamic tariffs, smart meters, HEMS, §14a, feed in management and grid regulation.

• Develop an understanding of energy pricing and the German and Austrian energy markets.

• Explain technical and regulatory topics in a simple and understandable way.

• Become a go to person internally for energy related questions.

3. Operational Excellence

• Work closely with Sales, Product, Marketing, Finance and Commercial Operations.

• Help ensure energy related processes run smoothly throughout the customer journey.

• Identify recurring problems and help find practical solutions.

• Share feedback from customers and partners with the Product and Operations teams.

• Help improve the customer experience as the business continues to grow.

4. Build the Internal Energy Knowledge Hub

• Help build and maintain an internal energy knowledge database.

• Create FAQs, energy guides, regulatory briefings and tariff explanations.

• Support colleagues with topics such as dynamic tariffs, §14a and HEMS.

• Answer recurring energy related questions across the business.

• Help improve the wider team's understanding of the energy market.

5. Process Optimisation & AI

• Look for opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and improve workflows.

What They're Looking For

This role would suit an ambitious master's student or recent graduate who wants to build a career in energy, climate tech or operations.

You’ll need fluent German and very good English, as well as strong communication skills and a structured approach to your work. You should be comfortable dealing with different people, managing several tasks at once and staying calm when dealing with difficult questions or problems.

You don’t need previous experience in the energy industry. What matters more is your attitude, curiosity, ability to learn quickly and willingness to get stuck in. The ideal person will be proactive, interested in technology and AI, and someone who naturally looks for ways to improve things rather than simply following existing processes.

Why This Opportunity

Based in Berlin, you’ll join a fast growing climate tech business where you’ll get real responsibility from day one. You’ll be speaking with customers and partners, working across different teams and getting exposure to senior people across the business.

You’ll work closely with the Head of Energy & Operations and the founding team, giving you a great opportunity to learn quickly and understand how a high growth business operates.

You’ll also build valuable knowledge of the energy market, including dynamic tariffs, HEMS, §14a, smart meters and energy regulation, while getting hands on experience with AI and how it can be used to improve day to day processes.

The culture is entrepreneurial, so if you have an idea or see something that could be done better, you’ll be encouraged to speak up and take ownership.

For someone looking to get into the energy transition, this is a really strong opportunity to learn quickly, get stuck in and build a career in an exciting and growing industry. If you perform well during the internship, there is also the potential to move into a full time position with the business.
