Head of Maintenance – Manufacturing Plant

Location: Coburg region, Bavaria, Germany


We're looking for an experienced maintenance leader to take ownership of the maintenance department at one of our manufacturing plants. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who wants to shape how a production site runs.


What you'll do:

  • Lead and develop the maintenance team, aligning day-to-day work with the plant's strategic direction and each team member's potential
  • Ensure production equipment availability to protect delivery capability
  • Monitor and control the quality of work delivered by external contractors, and represent the department to supervisory authorities
  • Act as the point of contact for audits within your area of expertise
  • Own budget planning, invoice tracking, and cost control for maintenance
  • Coordinate cross-departmentally with upstream and downstream production areas to keep processes and standards consistent along the value stream
  • Drive preventive maintenance and plant-wide maintenance consistency
  • Identify and realize energy-saving potential in line with applicable laws, standards, and operating regulations
  • Support smooth, successful planned audits
  • Maintain cost transparency across your area of responsibility


What you're responsible for:

  • Meeting the deadline, quality, and cost targets set for your area
  • The profitability of your team's output
  • Building your team's ability to respond effectively to market dynamics and change
  • Continuously improving how the department works and raising standards
  • Complying with management systems including IATF 16949, DIN EN ISO 14001 and 50001, DIN ISO 45001, and information security requirements (TISAX), along with operating instructions
  • Health and safety in your own area of responsibility


What you bring:

  • A completed technical degree, or further education as a technician or master craftsman (or equivalent knowledge gained another way)
  • At least 4 years of experience in a similar field
  • Solid knowledge of maintenance and manufacturing engineering
  • Strong team orientation and good communication skills
  • Experience with plastics, in application and processing
