About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Operations Lead to support the deployment, integration and maintenance of our humanoid robot solutions at customer facilities. As the on-site operations lead, this role involves coordinating site activities, collecting operational data, and supervising a team of Field Operators. This position requires problem-solving skills, sound judgment under pressure, and a customer-centric approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise a team of Field Operations Associates, setting and maintaining high standards in a demanding operational setting. This is hands-on operational and technical leadership role representing Humanoid at customer sites.
- Act as the on-shift operational leader, ensuring that the appropriate tools, spare parts, and equipment are available.
- Supervise standard operating procedures (SOPs) for customer sites, and document learnings from field issues.
- Test product releases and robot capabilities.
- Diagnose hardware and software issues using logs, diagnostics, and field observations, performing maintenance where appropriate.
- Collect, analyse, and interpret operational data to evaluate robot performance, identify bottlenecks, and drive continuous improvements.
- Track, document, and reproduce software and hardware issues, providing clear technical feedback to engineering and product teams.
- Tackle production incidents and technical issues in cooperation with service and engineering teams.
- Act as the primarily on-shift liaison between the deployed location and Humanoid offices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Engineering, or a comparable field (or technical equivalent) .
- 2–5 years of experience in industrial automation, robotics, or automotive integration, deployment, and development.
- Strong technical understanding of mechanical, electrical and networking, with hands-on experience in troubleshooting, assembly, and maintenance.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills, particularly in high-pressure operational environments.
- Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work independently in dynamic customer environments.
- Familiarity with project management and collaboration software (Confluence, Jira, etc.).
- Business-fluent English
- Flexibility to support future assignments at customer and occasional visits to company locations in the UK and Europe
- Unrestricted right to work and live in the European Union.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in warehouse or logistics automation, industrial robotics, or humanoid robotics deployment.
- Working knowledge of a relevant local language (e.g. German)
- Valid Class B (or equivalent) driver's license.
- Familiarity with software integration and sensor-based automation.
- Experience with commissioning, acceptance testing, or software validation.
- Familiarity with Python, Linux command-line tools or ROS (Robot Operating System).
- Experience working in complex operational environments.
- Experience working directly with customers in an operational leadership role.
