About the Role

KPIT is looking for an experienced Engine Design and Development Engineer to support engine development activities for a leading commercial vehicle manufacturer. Based at the customer's engine plant in Nuremberg, you will work closely with engineering teams in Germany and Brazil, contributing to engine design, development, coordination, and project execution activities.


Your Responsibilities

  • Create and update 3D models and 2D drawings using CATIA V5
  • Manage engine Bill of Materials (BOM) and engineering changes
  • Perform engine layout and installation studies
  • Conduct Digital Mock-Up (DMU) analysis and clearance checks
  • Maintain technical documentation and project records
  • Support cost reduction and technical improvement initiatives
  • Coordinate with customer teams, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
  • Drive engineering activities from concept through implementation


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering
  • 8 to 15 years of experience in engine or powertrain design and development
  • Strong experience with CATIA V5
  • Working knowledge of Windchill
  • Experience in diesel engine design and development
  • Experience with Bill of Materials (BOM) management
  • Experience with Engineering Change Management (ECM)
  • Experience performing engine installation and packaging studies
  • Experience conducting Digital Mock-Up (DMU) analysis
  • Experience in technical documentation and reporting
  • Independent and customer-facing working style
  • Fluent Portuguese
  • Fluent English


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with commercial vehicle manufacturers or engine manufacturers
  • Customer-facing engineering experience
  • Experience working with global teams across multiple countries
  • German language skills
