DevOps Engineer
Location: Cologne / Hybrid
Salary: €60,000 – €80,000
We’re looking for a DevOps Engineer to join a growing technology team and help build, maintain and improve modern cloud infrastructure and development platforms.
The environment is AWS-focused, but we’re open to DevOps and Cloud Engineers with experience across AWS, Azure, GCP or other cloud platforms, provided you have strong hands-on experience with modern DevOps tooling and practices.
You’ll work closely with Software Engineers and other technical teams to improve how applications are built, deployed and operated, with a strong focus on automation, scalability, reliability and security.
What you’ll be doing
- Design, build and maintain cloud infrastructure, with a primary focus on AWS
- Manage and improve Kubernetes and containerised environments
- Build and maintain infrastructure using Terraform or similar Infrastructure-as-Code tools
- Develop and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
- Automate repetitive processes and improve developer workflows
- Monitor systems, troubleshoot incidents and improve platform reliability
- Implement cloud security and access-control best practices
- Work closely with Software Engineers to support reliable and efficient application delivery
- Contribute to architectural and technical decisions as the platform evolves
- Improve documentation, processes and engineering standards
What we’re looking for
- Professional experience as a DevOps, Cloud, Platform or Infrastructure Engineer
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, GCP or another major cloud platform
- Good experience with Kubernetes and/or Docker
- Experience with Terraform or another Infrastructure-as-Code technology
- Strong understanding of CI/CD and modern software delivery practices
- Comfortable working with Linux and scripting, ideally Bash and/or Python
- Experience with monitoring, logging and observability
- Understanding of networking, security and cloud architecture
- A strong automation mindset and interest in improving engineering processes
- Good communication skills and the ability to work closely with Software Engineering teams
The Technology
The environment is AWS-biased, but the exact cloud background isn't a deal-breaker. If you have strong DevOps experience in Azure, GCP or another cloud environment, we'd still like to hear from you.
