Role Description The Data Annotator role is a remote, contract position focused on preparing high-quality labeled data to train and improve AI models. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing text, images, audio, or video data and applying precise labels according to detailed annotation guidelines. The Data Annotator will validate and refine existing annotations, flag ambiguous or problematic data, and collaborate with project leads to clarify instructions and edge cases. This role also involves tracking work progress, meeting productivity and accuracy targets, and providing feedback to help improve annotation tools, workflows, and documentation. The position requires consistent attention to detail, adherence to data privacy and security standards, and the ability to work independently while aligning with team processes and quality expectations.


Engagement details

  • Pay: $20 per task (expected a minimum of 3 per day)
  • Duration: 6 months
  • Mode of work: Fully Remote


Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail, ability to follow complex instructions, and commitment to high-quality, consistent data labelling.
  • Proficiency with computers and web-based tools; comfort working with spreadsheets, annotation platforms, and basic productivity software.
  • Excellent reading comprehension and written communication skills in English to interpret guidelines and document observations clearly.
  • Familiarity with AI, machine learning, or data-related projects is a plus; prior experience in data annotation, quality assurance, or content moderation is beneficial.
  • Understanding of data privacy and ethical considerations in working with sensitive or user-generated content.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in technology, data science, linguistics, or related fields is an advantage.
