ROLE: Site Inspector (QA/QC)

CONTRACT: 12 months (Freelance)


JD Ross are seeking an experienced Site Inspector (QA/QC) to support the delivery of a major energy infrastructure project in Brandenburg. This role is ideal for a quality-focused construction professional with a strong electrical or construction background and experience working on large-scale industrial or energy projects.


Key Responsibilities

Quality Control & Site Inspections

  • Inspect incoming materials and equipment, including cables, battery containers, inverters, and transformers, ensuring they are free from transport damage.
  • Perform quality inspections during installation and construction activities, including foundations, cable routes, and electrical works.
  • Monitor ongoing civil, electrical, and cable installation activities to ensure compliance with project standards.
  • Conduct inspections in accordance with Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), including Hold Points and Witness Points.
  • Supervise and monitor subcontractor activities on site.


Defect Management & Quality Assurance

  • Identify, document, and track construction defects and quality issues.
  • Support the preparation of non-conformance and deviation reports.
  • Follow up on corrective actions with contractors and subcontractors to ensure timely resolution.


Documentation & Reporting

  • Record and maintain inspection reports using Procore or similar quality management systems.
  • Review delivery notes, material certificates, test records, and inspection documentation.
  • Support the maintenance of quality records and as-built documentation, including redline reviews.


Stakeholder Coordination

  • Work closely with Site Management, Project Quality teams, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Participate in regular construction and project meetings, providing quality-related updates and feedback.


Requirements

  • Technical qualification in Electrical Engineering, Construction, or a related discipline (Technician, Meister, or equivalent).
  • Additional QA/QC or Quality Management certification would be advantageous.
  • Experience in quality assurance or site inspection on large construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience within energy, power, substation, renewable energy, or industrial projects is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of QA/QC processes, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and construction quality standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation.
  • Experience using EPLAN, S-Plan, or similar electrical design software is advantageous.
  • German and good English communication skills.
